LOCAL EDITION COFFEE & Tea: Everyone’s Neighborhood Café

I love going to a usual busy place on a slow weekend. I love the juxtaposition of the high-rise buildings and the quietness of the place with barely a few people walking by. Off-peak. Rest day.

Whenever I picture an urban escape, the windy, tree-lined Perea Street in Makati City instantly comes to mind. I see myself turning in the street from Paseo de Roxas on my way to Local Edition Coffee & Tea. You cannot go wrong in a creative and cozy place with a pretty decent wifi and good coffee whenever you feel like your day is getting a bit too crazy for you to function. We all have those days, right? A visit to Local Edition might be what you need!

What makes this place more awesome is that they are 100% local – from the coffee they source in Benguet and Cavite (to name a few), the food they serve they get from a local market to the creative space they create for local artists. I feel so proud whenever I look at the art installments and photos around the shop while sipping my flat white with an iced gem on the side.

They are very community-driven. Aside from the support they give to local coffee and artists, they also have a corner for #BookProjectManila. What you only need to do is bring a book (or more!) that you want to share to other bookworms. You are free to get the same quantity of books you shared.

And the family is growing! If you happen to be at Serendra in Bonifacio Global City, you might see a smaller version but still as welcoming and as artsy of Local Edition. You may be always on-the-go, but remember that there’s a place like Local Edition waiting for your visit whenever you just want to breathe and chill out.
